Story and Photos by Kevin Novello GNCC Legend Tommy Norton Blasts through a stream aboard the 2015 XCF-W 350. This year’s version of the KTM XCF-W 350 left me scratching my head. I remember last year’s version pretty well; it was torquey and a bit milder than the XC-F and SX-F line up. So imagine my surprise when I whacked the throttle on the ’15 and got an unprecedented blast of power that ripped the front wheel from the ground and caused me to skid through a corner. I eventually [Read More...]

Story and Photos by Kevin Novello Kevin Hubbard puts the 2015 KTM XC-W 300 through the paces. As you have no doubt figured out, 2015 is a year of refinements for most of the KTM lineup, and the 300 XC-W is no exception. The obvious changes are the orange powder coated frame and the new graphics, but it doesn’t completely end there; KTM updated the ignition and inner clutch covers with new gaskets for improved sealing. On the MX track or in more open terrain, one can quickly and easily tap in to the strength of the 125 by keeping it wrung out and not letting it slip below the midrange. The Husqvarna TC 125 we tested in Florida last February was straight up awesome in the sandy, flowing terrain of Croom Motorcycle Park as it was easy to keep it pinned. But keeping a 125 pinned in technical terrain [Read More...]

October 17, 2014 // 48,154 Comments

Story and Photos by Kevin Novello A peak at the changes to the 2015 Beta lineup confirms that this off-road manufacturer is set on making meaningful changes to their models each year. Even though the new lineup looks similar to last year’s, they are quite different and vastly improved. Headlining the changes for 2015 are new displacements for the 4-stroke line up, save for the 350 which remains the same. The 400cc has been reduced to a 390cc and the 450cc and 498cc engines have been reduced [Read More...]
