Enduro Spec Suspension

September 11, 2014 // 0 Comments

I am at a point where I don’t see myself getting any faster.  I am not the type of seasoned veteran like  Jeff Pasqua or Mike Lafferty that can meet and beat the speed of the younger throttle jockeys.  Still, I like to do well.  So rather than relying on twisting the throttle beyond my comfort zone, I need to employ all of the available options that help me ride to my potential.  In addition to improved fitness and efficient technique, a good suspension tuner is about the best investment [Read More...]

2014 2-Stroke Comparison

September 11, 2014 // 12,300 Comments

This a good year to be a two-stroke enthusiast.  With brands like Sherco and Beta coming on the scene and performing so well, the two-stroke market is the most competitive it has been in a long, long time.   Our original plan was to do a 250 off-road two-stroke shootout last fall.  We even plunked down our own money and bought the Beta 250 RR to insure we had it for inclusion.   The only problem was that Sherco and GasGas were late to the party and never even made it in to the U.S until [Read More...]

After two seasons recuperating from injuries, Buttrick has signed with Beta and is steadily improving. His dad was kind enough to walk us through Cory’s Factory bike. Here’s what the [Read More...]

Are you in the market for new ride? Maybe you are new to the sport and contemplating purchasing a new, or new-to-you bike? Not everyone can afford a new bike and if you are just starting out, there really is no reason to spend that kind of cash, unless you wipe your counter with Benjamin’s. Assuming you have already identified the bike you want to look at, what do you look for when checking out a used bike? There’s a long list of potential problem areas but we’ll stick to [Read More...]

Sherco X Ride 290

September 10, 2014 // 15,991 Comments

After uncrating and assembling the Sherco X Ride 290, I took a step back and gave it hard look. It really is a curious looking machine. The X-Ride isn’t a trials bike, and certainly not an enduro bike. Heck, it’s not really a trail bike. There really isn’t much to compare it to; it has trials tires front and rear, a bigger tank and larger seat, higher ground clearance and lights. The blinkers are stripped off the machine prior to shipping but it still comes with a head and [Read More...]
